LSZ, Lysergic acid 2,4-dimethylazetidide, LA-SS-Az, Diazedine, Lambda
A class of drugs known as LSD analogue, which is also known as LSZ, was developed by David Nichols and his team at Purdue University. A synthetic LSD-like substance known as 2,4-dimethylazetidide is produced by the lysergamide chemical class. It can produce psychedelic effects when ingested. It was made with the diethylamide group bound into azetidine rings. There are three stereoisomers around this region, and the most potent one is the (S,S,+), which is slightly more potent than LSD in drug discrimination tests.
There have been several reports of illicit laboratories producing lysergic acid 2,4 diethylazetidide. These drugs were reportedly being distributed in liquid form or on blotter paper.
In 2013, LSZ was seen on the UK’s designer chemical and pharmaceutical markets. It then gained widespread popularity through mail-order psychedelic shops in 2012.
Prior to 2012, LSZ had no known human usage. It was first spotted in the UK in 2012 and became popular through a cluster of mail-order novel shops. There have also been various reports of it being produced in illicit laboratories and being distributed in liquid solution or blotter paper.
Although it is not considered to be addictive, it can cause severe psychological reactions, such as paranoia and anxiety, especially among those with mental disorders. It is important to avoid using this substance in combination with other drugs or in combination with other harmful substances.
Chemistry
Lysergic acid 2,4 diethylazidide, or LSZ, is a semi-synthetic alkaloid of lysergamide. It has a core structure that is composed of amine functional groups bound to the RN chemical structure. This polycyclic structure has multiple phenethylamine and tryptamine groups.
The structure is composed of a bicyclic hexahydroindole and a bicyclic quinoline group. When the carbon 8 of the quinoline reaches the point where an amide group is bound, it forms a 2,4 dimethylazetidide compound. LSZ is then substituted with a methyl group.
There are three stereoisomers around the azettidine ring, and the most active one is the isomer of LSD. It is more potent than LSD in drug discrimination tests.
Pharmacology
The drug LSZ is a partial agonist of 5-HT2A. It is believed that the effects of this drug can trigger a psychedelic experience. However, the exact mechanism by which this happens remains unclear.
The toxicological and physiological properties of this compound has not been analyzed. Usage of this Chemical should be for research and forensic purposes only.
